Dwarkadhish Temple at Dwarka is one of the four major pilgrimages of India. The main temple at Dwarka situated on Gomti creek is known as jagat mandir or trilok sundar. Dwaraka is located on the extreme western end of Kathiawar peninsula, where the River Gomti meets the Arabian Sea. Due to fear of the attack by Jarasangh and Kaalayvan on Mathura, Shri Krishna and Yadavas left Mathura and arrived at the coast of Saurashtra. Lord Krishna later set up his capital at Dwaraka, on the banks of river Gomti. Dwarkadheesh JI temple is very old and great architecture it is approximately 5000 year old . There are two gates of temple one is Swarg Dwar and other is Moksha Dwar. The Dwarkadhish temple and its Sikhar rises to 170 feet.

The original temple was constructed by King Vajranabha, the great grandson of Lord Krishna. The majestic five-storied structure of Dwarkadhish Temple stands high on the confluence of Gomati River and Arabian Sea. Built with the support of 72 pillars, Dwarkadhish Mandir presents a sight to behold. This temple has two shikhars and in between them The nij shikhar is the longer shikhar. It denotes where the deity of Lord Krishna is installed. After the end of the war of Mahabharata, Shri Krishna lived for 36 years at Dwaraka.
